Testimonials

Food insecurity is one of the unpalatable facts of life in Toronto. Being retired and not being in a position to address that with money I am happy to make a small “hands on” contribution. Working directly with the seeds and the soil makes this all the more meaningful for me.

I always enjoy doing the volunteering for my community. I find this is a way of giving back to my community. About the food distribution, it was a really good opportunity to get in direct contact with the people and find what they need, provide them at least with food and vegetables that come from an organic source. We make a good connection with people in the Flemo area and it starts to build a trust for them.

You know after COVID started, we started to distribute food and vegetables for our seniors and now at Angela James Arena for our community members. It’s an honour and I’m just really happy to be involved in this program. I know so many people from my community, they are in need of vegetables – it’s so expensive for them. Most of the people are newcomer or immigrants here in Flemingdon, I’m just so grateful for the help we receive from the Flemingdon ministry and the farm.
